Mentodec User Guide
Everything you need to know to get started, as a Learner, Coach, or Institution.
1. What is Mentodec?
Mentodec is a marketplace that connects Learners with verified Coaches and mentors across academic, professional, creative, and fitness skills — as well as Institutions offering courses at scale. Every Coach on Mentodec is identity-verified, shares real teaching videos, and is rated by learners who've actually completed a paid session with them — so you always know what you're getting before you commit.
2. For Learners
1Browse for free. Explore Coach profiles, watch their showcase videos, and read public Q&A — no account or payment required.
2Ask a question. Not sure if a Coach is the right fit? Ask them directly in the public Q&A tab before you book.
3Book a session. Pick a time slot, pay securely in-app, and your payment is held safely until the session is complete.
4Attend and rate. Join your session (online via video, or offline at the agreed location), then rate your Coach — your rating is specific to the category you booked, so it's always an accurate reflection.
Want a longer commitment? Coaches can also offer multi-month courses, paid in five installments rather than one large upfront payment — ask your Coach if this is available for your subject.
3. For Coaches
1Create your profile. Add your bio, experience, fees, and choose up to 4 categories you teach.
2Get verified. Submit your ID and credentials — this is what earns you the trust badge learners look for.
3Showcase your teaching. Upload up to 5 short videos (max 5 minutes each) so learners can see your actual teaching style.
4Get booked, get paid. Once a session is complete, your payment is released automatically to your bank account or UPI ID — no chasing, no awkward reminders.

4. For Institutions
Mentodec supports three ways for coaching institutes and organizations to partner with us:
- Showcase Only — list your faculty and courses for visibility; teach your students entirely offline, outside the app.
- Institute as Coach — your faculty deliver real, bookable sessions through Mentodec, just like an individual Coach.
- Institute as Buyer — have students but need a subject expert? Request a Coach for your entire batch, online or offline.

5. Payments, Membership & Fees
- All payments are processed securely through Razorpay — Mentodec never stores your full card or bank details.
- Session payments are held until your session is marked complete, then released to your Coach — this protects both sides if a session is cancelled or disputed.
- You'll receive a notification and an emailed receipt for every payment, and can view your full payment history anytime from your Profile.
- Cancelling more than 24 hours before a session gets you a full refund; a Coach cancellation or no-show is always fully refunded, regardless of timing.
6. Trust & Safety
- Every Coach is identity-verified before their profile goes live.
- Every showcase video is reviewed before it's published.
- Ratings can only be left by Learners who completed a real, paid session — never fabricated or bought.
- Mentodec is intended for users aged 18 and above.

7. Getting Help
Most questions are answered right inside the app — tap Support from your Profile tab to search common questions instantly. Can't find what you need? The same screen lets you reach us directly, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
